Tom joined the lab in September of 2010. Prior to that, he obtained
his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Northwestern University. For his
Ph.D. in cell biology, he worked with Gary Borisy and Ed Taylor,
modeling the protrusion of lamellipodia by populations of actin
filaments. Before that, Tom obtained a B.S. and M.S. in mechanical
engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign.
Tom's current research focuses on developing DNA nanotechnology for
medical applications such as drug delivery and diagnostics.
